It’s nice to meet you!
Hello, I’m Justin M. Ward — creator of JMWard Images, born in the Bay Area and proudly serving Los Angeles.
I specialize in event and portrait photography, with a focus on capturing candid, emotional, and story-driven images. What motivates my work is simple: people, community, and moments that matter.
Photography has been in my family for generations, but I built my career by showing up for organizations that create real impact. I grew my craft through nonprofits, community programs, and local initiatives across Los Angeles — spaces where authentic storytelling is essential. That experience shapes the way I work today: with intention, professionalism, and respect for every environment I step into.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing a wide range of meaningful events, including:
• Ava DuVernay’s Civil Class
• Pride or Die LGBTQ+ community events
• Political meet & greets and civic gatherings
• Dress for Success programs supporting underserved communities
• Film festivals and industry events at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood
Whether I’m documenting a corporate event, a community outreach program, or a creative production, my approach stays consistent:
blend into the moment, highlight the people, and tell the story with clean, moody, and sharp imagery that reflects the true energy of the event.
I believe that photography should serve a purpose — uplifting communities, preserving important work, and helping organizations share their impact with the world.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my work. I look forward to capturing your next event with professionalism, authenticity, and heart.
